What’s new in NotifyTV

Every update to the phone and TV apps. Updates usually reach both apps at the same time, and older and newer versions keep working together.

    Steadier connection and safer call control

    Stays connected

    • Reconnects by itself after a Wi-Fi drop, a TV restart or an app update, without opening the app.
    • Notifications that arrive during a short drop-out (up to a minute) are delivered when the phone reconnects.
    • Finds your TV again if it gets a new address on your network.
    • When the TV is switched off, the phone stops retrying every few seconds and shows a Retry button instead, which saves battery.

    Calls

    • The call popup has Decline and Dismiss buttons, with Dismiss selected, so a stray OK press won’t end a call.
    • Decline only reaches the phone that is ringing, and only while it is still ringing.
    • The popup closes as soon as the call is answered or ends, and stays up to 45 seconds while it rings.
    • Outgoing calls, calls in progress and voicemail are no longer shown as incoming calls.

    On the TV

    • The “Tomorrow” pause, which ended at midnight, becomes “Till 7 AM”, and calls still get through while notifications are paused.
    • Long messages you open with OK stay on screen until you press Back.
    • Popups are easier to read over bright scenes.
    • Works on TVs connected by Ethernet as well as Wi-Fi.
    • Clear All and Remove Device ask before deleting anything.

    On the phone

    • A banner tells you when the TV can’t be reached, with a Retry button.
    • A reminder to turn off battery optimization if your phone might stop NotifyTV in the background.
    • Fewer false OTP hides: words like “opinion” or “shopping”, and dates such as “12 March 2026”, no longer trigger it.
    • Removing a TV asks you to confirm.
